You're not meant to be completely free of pain
On today’s episode we welcome back Linguistiologist Kathy Rast. Unlike my last interview with Kathy who shared with us the power of language, we get to hear from Kathy on a deeper and personal level where she shares with us her struggles with chronic pain and how she dealt with it to come out on the other side pain free.
Kathy shares with her struggles with dealing with anxiety and depression throughout her 20’s and 30’s and how she has very little recollection of her time as a 20 year old due to the varies pain medication natural and prescribed she was taking in order to deal with her pain. Kathy reached a point in her pain journey where no cocktail of medications was helping her but found she was losing a part of her self and existence. As a result, Kathy decided to take charge of her own existence and deal with her anxiety and depression by speaking about it and learning how to deal with it and accepting that this was part of her and her life.

On today’s episode we have the pleasure of chatting with Kathy Rast who is an Entrepreneur and Linguistiologist. Kathy shares with us the power of language and how language can be unique to each individual by allowing them to create and set their conditions. Language can be interrupted in different ways by others.
Therefore, Kathy explains that it’s ok to set your own conditions around your language and it’s ok to not have expectation or expect others to know how to speak to you or how others would like to be spoken too by being aware of what’s ours and what’s somebody else’s.

We have the pleasure of speaking with Nailah Blades Wylie, your adventure coach. Nailah takes us through her journey of how she started Color Outside to create a safe space for women of colour to come together and create outdoor adventures and reap the health benefits of what the outdoor space has to offer.
Color Outside began when Nailah moved to Salt Lake City in Utah with her family. She at first started with a free community group that she needed to explore the adventures of the outdoors that she was not able to find, and it ultimately grew from there, helping many women of colour create the same communities for the outdoors.
